Equatran 3.5
QUATRAN is a software application for solving sets of mathematical equations. Equations are typed in an intuitive format, and provided the equations entered are solvable, the solution and values of all variables will be found. Systems of linear and non-linear equations can be solved. Ordinary differential equations with multiple unknowns can be solved by numerical integration. This feature is most commonly used for dynamic simulation where the independent variable in the differential equations is time. For systems with multiple solutions, tools for controlling the calculation sequence and initial guesses are available to ensure that the preferred solution is found. EQUATRAN is used extensively for scientific and engineering calculations in a variety of fields. Its origins are in chemical engineering and many problem examples are available in this area. Optimisation of an objective function is possible allowing the best fit to be found to experimental data in a set of equations.
