GSP - Gedcom Service Programs 3.2.4
program package to analyze, validate, convert, reduce, sort, renumber, duplicates/merge/sync and listing Gedcom files to be called by a Start center.
GSP Structure Analysis - performs a structure analysis of the ged-file. The level-by-level structure of the ged-file for every data record (INDI, FAM, SOUR, ...) will be checked and listed, incl all used Gedcom tags.
GSP Validate - checkes ged-files for up to 30 logical errors for the date values (e.g. birth after death) and about 25 potential problems (warnings or error messages). Potential date errors may be shown side by side for comparison.
GSP Conversion - allows repair of ged-files by modifying erroneous text and date values, changing Gedcom tags, correcting certain Gedcom structures and eliminates specific lines of the ged-file. This will minimize/eliminate data losses during exchanging ged-files between researchers using different genealogy programs.
GSP Reduction - selective extracting (persons, locations, ancestors, descendants and paternal/maternal lines) from any ged-file to build a new, reduced ged-file with the desired group of persons with the same structure than the original file. Further options allow to control the volume of the new file. Partners, children, anchestors, descendants, relations and media may be included at the transfer. Privacy protection options provided.
GSP Duplicates - Search / Merge / Sync - checkes ged-files for duplicate entries and allows a manually merging resp. synchronizing of duplicate persons. Verification can be done for single or any two ged-files.
GSP Sorting - allows a resorting of ged-files. 3 general methods available.
GSP Renumbering - renumbers all known record types and optional sorts INDI records of ged-files. Various sorting options available.
GSP Listing - build lists (html- and csv-files) with the desired group of persons by selective extracting (persons, places, other parameters) from any ged-file.
Requirements
Changes: 3.2.4
- Unified checking of the character set used by the ged-file.
- Due to data security the programs will no longer allow to store control files and to read the ged-file in / from the program directory or one of its subdirectories.
