his tool is used to query a server running the network time protocol service and is compatible with all current versions of the NTP protocol. The following information can be queried mode, leap indicator this is used to warn of an impending leap second to be inserted in the last minute of the current day, stratum, version number this is the version of the NTP protocol used by the server in its reply, poll interval this is the maximum interval between successive messages, precision, root delay this is the round trip time between the client and the server, root dispersion this is the nominal error relative to the primary reference source, reference ID this will be either the IP address of the time server or the reference string provided by the NTP server, reference timestamp is the time in which the time was last synchronised, transmit timestamp this is the time the server transmitted the reply to the client, round trip delay this is the time between the departure of the reply from the server and the arrival at the client, local clock offset this is the offset of the local clock relative to the primary reference source.
