Users view MPEG-4 coded video and have complete control of the program via network that surveillance workstation can be run without monitor, keyboard, and mouse connected. Software`s modular composition considerably boosts reliability because all parts work as independent programs. If one module stops working, other units continue running. For instance if the `record` unit freezes, `watchdog` starts over it immediately that users don`t notice anything because they are watching picture through a `playback` module. The software makes `cyclic` recording that the `disk full` situation never happens. The recording can be constant or it can be initiated by activity, human face detection, or by schedule. The software has pre-alarm and post-alarm recording. Playing back recorded video is pretty easy and performs on the surveillance server as well as on remote station using Web interface. The program does simultaneous video playback for event analysis from multiple cameras concurrently. Also recorded data can be searched by date, time or by face detected. All recorded files can be encrypted and password protected.
